Nuestro miembro federado donalo.org<\/a> es uno de los 3 finalistas en la categor\u00eda empresas al Premio europeo de Prevenci\u00f3n de Residuos (EWWR 2017)<\/a> por su campa\u00f1a “Reutilizaci\u00f3n de ordenadores en empresas tecnol\u00f3gicas de Catalunya para su preparaci\u00f3n y reutilizaci\u00f3n en ONG<\/a>“.Con el objetivo de asegurar a las 20 entidades donantes la trazabilidad de los 2.339 kilogramos de material electr\u00f3nico que se donaron, la campa\u00f1a se organiz\u00f3 usando el Workbench y el DeviceTag.io<\/a>, dos tecnolog\u00edas desarrolladas por Pangea y que forman parte de las herramientas procom\u00fan y servicios englobados en eReuse.<\/p>\n El reto principal de la campa\u00f1a era el de asegurar la trazabilidad (cadena de custodia) de los dispositivos electr\u00f3nicos donados hasta su correcto reciclaje final. Con este objetivo, todos los donantes rellenaron un cuestionario con los datos de los dispositivos (fabricante, n\u00famero de serie, modelo y identificador interno de la compa\u00f1\u00eda). Una vez en el taller de donalo.org, los dispositivos fueron tratados con la tecnologia eReuse, que permite trazar todos los componentes del ordenador y vincularlos a una etiqueta QR para poder hacer el seguimiento de su vida \u00fatil.<\/p>\n El uso de este protocolo permiti\u00f3 a donalo.org elaborar indicadores sociales y ambientales para las empresas donantes, lo que les permite valorizar la acci\u00f3n en su Responsabilidad Social Corporativa. Asimismo, la acci\u00f3n tiene varios impactos: el ambiental (35.943 kilos de CO2 que se han dejado de emitir a la atm\u00f3sfera gracias a la reutilizaci\u00f3n);\u00a0 y el social, i) uni\u00f3n de fuerzas para luchar contra la brecha digital del tercer sector y ii)generaci\u00f3n de econom\u00eda local (40 ordenadores donados al mes permiten a donalo.org generar un puesto de trabajo, ya que las ONG receptoras abonan un coste simb\u00f3lico por los PC que reciben).<\/p>\n Los ganadores ser\u00e1n revelados durante la ceremonia de la EWWR<\/a>, que ser\u00e1 en Bruselas el 22 de mayo de 2018. El evento forma parte de la Semana Verde Europea<\/a><\/p>\n ES\/EN<\/strong><\/p>\n Our federated member donalo.org<\/a> is one of the 3 finalists in the companies category to the European Prize for Waste Prevention (EWWR 2017) for its “Campaign for the Digital device collection in Catalonian companies for its refurbishment and reuse in NGO<\/a>“. To ensure donors the traceability of the digital items until recycling, <\/strong>donalo.org organized the campaign using the Workbench and Devicetag.io, provided by Pangea, and based on eReuse.org<\/a>, a set of open-source tools, procedures, open data, and services organized as a common-pool resources to reach the circular economy of electronics. The developments of the several components of eReuse have been supported by Chest EU project #611333 between 2015 and 2016 and, currently, by TaglSmart EU project 688061.<\/p>\n The main challenge was to ensure traceability of the digital items. Traceability understood as a tracing the geographical places, reuse agents, and receivers of digital devices until the collection and recycling points. To ensure this, all the companies and institutions must fill out a questionnaire with the manufacturer, model and serial number of each donated digital item.<\/p>\n Once in the donalo.org repair space, all the items were traced with ereuse.org technology. The objective was collecting information about the components of each device and preparing them for reuse using a unique identifying label. This methodology allows to locate the electronic items in the future and to ensure final recycling to the donors<\/strong>. Moreover, this traceability allows to make the accountability to donor companies. The fact of being able to give environmental and social indicators to the companies, allows them to valorize the action and to include the indicators in their social accountability<\/strong>. On the other hand, is a way to strength their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).<\/p>\n This action not only impacts on the environment, also in the social area. First of all, because the reuse of digital items allows us to join forces to fight against NGOs digital gap. Moreover, we get to generate local economy. 40 devices refurbished and resale to NGOs allows donalo.org to generate a job. This activity holds in ereuse.org pretends to be sustainable; so NGOs pay only the recirculating computer cost (almost half price of a computer sold in a second hand market).<\/p>\n The winners will be revealed during the EWWR ceremony<\/a>, which will be in Brussels on May 22, 2018.
